AXLEBACK EXHAUST

RE: AXLEBACK EXHAUST
i love my JBA's...i could not even begin to count how many times i have received comments from people here in houston saying that i have the best sounding mustang they have ever heard. but like an earlier post, everybody is gonna be partial to what product they have b/c nobody wants to be unhappy with a purchase...it is really your personal preference. some of the websites even have sound clips of their mufflers; check those out but take them with a grain of salt b/c i for one know that JBA's website did their mufflers no justice compared to hearing them in person.
dont spend too much on them though. there really isnt any system that has a decent gain in power since ford already put high flow cats and mufflers on the cars from stock. $300-$500 is a decent range but when you get into those systems in the $600-$800 range, you are really just blowing money that could be spent elsewhere for much better performance gains. just my .02

RE: AXLEBACK EXHAUST
I have MAC's and they are the best looking muffler I've seen and the tips are awesome too. They sound like rock n' roll baby! But to be fair to the SLPs' they are the cheapest and loudest I've read about on this forum. Also the MACs' were hard to install. I had a muffler shop do them and they had to weld them because the mufflers did line up with the hangers.

Has anyone else had problems with installing the MAC exhaust? They claim you can install them yourself...
No muffler shop needed.

RE: AXLEBACK EXHAUST
I installed mine, by myself in a gravel driveway and without a jack ..Oh yeah, under those circumstances it was a pain in the butt...Getting the hangers and pipe to all line up at once was tight but if I wouldnt have been so anxious to get em on it probably would have only taken half the time..cause I would have broke out the jack...For my install, biggest problem was the drivers side..dunno why but it took the longest ..About ten deep breaths and a few smoke breaks to calm down...good luck with which ever one you purchase . Oh yeah ..my total install time was about an hour ..would have been less had I not been hard headed ..
