Default Fishing from the drivers seat???

Last Monday morning I parked my car and I did not drive it again til today. It has rained ALOT this week. Today I get in my car, and there is about an inch of water in the passenger floor board. Back floorboard has even more water cuz its parked on a slight incline. I left to find a car wash to vacuum it out and more water starts pouring out from under the dash. Now my airbag light is flashing on and off. No telling what other electrical gremlins will pop up.

I dont have a place to work on it, or the time, so I took it to the stealership. I know it is somewhat common with the older models to leak, so I am wondering if anyone has any idea what they are gonna hit me for cost wise?

What sucks the most is that I dont know how long it was leaking for. Hell, it could have started Monday and sat all week soaking into the carpet. This sucks ***!!!!!

This may explain what the problem is, a TSB was issued on the problem.

I think the Airbag module is under the passenger seat and it may be flooded with water, but I'm not 100% sure of it's location.

Saddle, I figured it wouldn't happen to my car, and here I sit. Damnit!

Unleashed, thanks for the pdf. I've seen the TSB and told them that is what I thought it was (funny, the first dealership had no idea about the TSB). I was wondering how much they are gonna rape me to fix it. Seems like alot of stuff to do, so I am sure it will be a pretty penny

I didn't think I would have a water leak, and yet mine does now. The grommets must deteriorate over time and fail to cause the leak. I still have yet to locate where mine is coming from. Nothing as serious as yours, but enough to make me worry about it.

Well, the dealer called and it will be $360 for parts and labor. They are open til midnight and it will take about 3-4 hours to fix, and then they are gonna take it to their detail shop and dry it out over night and all day tomorrow. I'm so pissed.

Side note, anyone know if this will constitute as being flooded as far as title purposes go?

is this a common problem with the S197's?

it will not go down as flood damage but a water leak, to constitute flood damage; water needs to be in the motor. This info was from a allstate agent.
