Default For the 2010+ Owners - How Do I Remove Lower Grille?

I think I remember reading that in the 2005-2009 Mustangs, when you remove the lower front grille you have to take some screws out in addition to the push tabs..... For some reason I "thought" I heard that on the 2010 there aren't screws, just the tabs.

Has anyone personally removed their lower grille on their 2010? I've done the top grille and it was just the tabs. The lower one is harder to get to and I need to get it off so I can make some mods to it.

Thanks!

You have to remove the front bumper cover to detach either the upper or lower grill / valance. They are connected from the back side

Its the same tabs as the top. When I did mine however I couldn't actually see them from the top and didn't feel like taking out the bottom and crawling under the car to see 'em. I ended up carefully pulling it right out with my hands but those tabs can and do break. I broke 1 in the process but the others hold it tight still...

Soooo....If you wanna do it "right" you're gonna have to get it up on stands or a lift and get the bottom splash guard off or like Dm said, take the whole bumper cover off. Oooooor if your arms are skinny enough you can reach in from the top and feel them. If I remember correctly there's a couple on each side of the top and bottom (4 total) but my memory sucks so don't take my word for it.... But, yeah no screws. Also a word of warning...It was a bitch to get back on lol. Hopefully yours goes smoother.

I will see what I can do. I'm going to try to get it off without breaking anything so we will see what happens. I've taken the upper grille off so many times I can do it with my eyes closed. It's just that the bottom grille is so much harder to get to.
