Wow these new 5.0's seem to take mods very well

The 05-09 benefit the same. More gains come out of a tune than a CAI. You can have a tune and no CAI and still see massive gains. 80% of the performance upgrade comes from the tune rather than the CAI.

right, the majority can be done with stock airflow, but the CAI gives more air after just a tune so you can squeeze even more when you get the CAI also.

I was actually hoping to see more but i guess 30ish from cai/tune is good still. plus that is just SCT tune, not brenspeed or Doug

It only makes sense that the overall RWHP gain from a custom tune on a 412 crank HP engine would be higher than that on a 300 crank HP engine with all else being relatively equal (such as Ford's ridiculously restrictive stock exhaust, overly conservative fuel mapping, etc.). And it's good to see that the 5.0 has some room to spare.

I wonder what a MT car would have laid down. 390/375 perchance?

I don't think the auto is much more parisitic...

Yes. Some may even say that the CAI provides less than 20%. A majority of what you feel is from the tune.

But according to the experts on the internets, this engine is already maxed out from the factory....

LOL!
