Default First trip to the track in the Lethal Performance 2011 5.0L Mustang GT

We had the opportunity last night to take our new 5.0L to the track for the first time. We wanted to get some baseline runs in with the car completely stock. The car came from the factory with a 6 speed manual trans, 3.73 gears and the Brembo brake package which also consists of 19" wheels with Pirelli tires.

The weather was hot and humid with air temps of 82deg (Typical FL summer weather). Behind the seat was Lethal Performance's own Derek Perez. At this point Derek had only driven the car on the street for a short cruise so we knew it would take a few runs for him to get comfortable with the car and used to shifting with the new 6 speed setup.

After a few runs Derek made his way into the 12's with a 12.97@109mph. That was with a 1.97 60ft. The run after that Derek cracked off a 12.79@109.05mph with a 1.92 60ft.

We had intended putting on the slicks and skinnies and making a few more passes but forgot that we needed to install the sway bar relocation bracket for the 15" wheels to fit. That basically ended the evening.

Overall it was a good night at the track and we hope to be back there next Wednesday. We may try a few more runs stock as Derek believes with a good 60ft we could see a 12.50. Then we'll throw a custom Jon Lund tune on the car and see what she does.

Here's a few pics from last night compliments of Danielle Perez and some video footage of last nights 12.79 run.

Nice run.
I might just be new to outside of Arkansas drag racing but whats with all the "hot" talk when its in the low 80s LOL. Thats damn close to coat weather for some folks around here lol. No really though mid to upper 80s with 75+ humidity at night is leaning more toward "hot"

Haha, +1, man. With a head index of 104* and humidity of 90%, it gets downright awful. I'd hate to try and test/tune a car in this weather.

Back on topic, sweet run.

What the hell was he doing back there? Put him behind the wheel and he'll crack off a 12.50 for sure!

I had to.

Great job! Can we get a little more info? Do you know the weight of the car during the runs, what RPM did you lanch it at, did you just dump the clutch and mash the throttle, tire pres. and so on? thanks
