2011 GT 5.0 Differential Ratio

Just because you have a different gear ratio doesn't mean you are going to suffer mileage and traction issues. Going from 3.55-4.10 drop the vehicles mpg average 1-2 mpg.
There is so much more to traction then gear ratio choice.
I would guess 99% of his driving will be on public roads. It won't matter what gear he is finsihing his run in.

I guess if you are going to put that tall of tires on, then you will be ok, but let me ask, what's the point in putting lower gears in, only to reverse that by putting tires on that are 1.5 inches taller, essentially bringing the axle ratio back down closer to the 3.73 anyway?
Unless of course those tall tires are drag radials or slicks and you are using them for traction.
But then what tires are you going to run on the street? If standard 27.2 inch size the 11's come with, traction will be an issue on the street if you want to do a moderately hard launch or do an impromtu run no?

The 6 speed's ratios are different than the earlier 5 speed. 3.73's shouldn't be any problem for highway driving but I'd consider the 3.55's. They'd still cook.

My order for the 5.0 is a done deal. The car will be an all black Premium 5.0 GT with the Comfort Package, Security Package, spoiler delete, and 3:55:1 limited slip differential. The price less tax is 32,995.
Now I have 8 weeks to sell my 2006 Screaming Yellow 4.6L Premium GT. I am going to miss this car because the body style is much more appealing to me than the 2011.
Thanks for all of your comments.
