Default 2011 V6 vs. 2010 GT. first vid ive seen...

so there has been so much banter about these two. ive said all along that the v6 wont be able to hang with the 3v's powerband. i guess i was right.

I'm not saying the video is wrong, but there ARE other factors that come into play. Who is the better driver? Were those automatics? If they were sticks, did the driver in the GT shift more aggressively than that V6 driver? Like I said, the video could be accurate, but you can't base it off of JUST that video. Maybe they should have switched drivers to see what the outcome would have been then. Bottom line..... Just because this video exists doesn't make it true.

id be willing to be that 10/10 times the 3v car will win. its got a better powerband/more torque and from what im seeing slightly lighter.

This video is old and has been broken down many times.

Main point: V6 had 2.73 gears as opposed to 3.31 like GT. Put 3.31 on the V6 and it would dead close or about even. How does running a car with more power and better gearing against a for-31-mpg-purpose 2.73 gears on a car with less HP and TQ fair?

The new V6 may easily be modded to match or beat a stock 05-09 GT.

Ok, but if someone is actually sitting in one of the cars filming it, that car should be slower because of the weight of that person..he or she could be 350lbs sitting there LOL, but in any case the last round the guy filming was in the GT and it still won, so the GT is faster I guess.

The V6 has a 6 speed, so the gears comment really doesn't hold any water. I don't know what MPG has to do with this. That would be like saying a vette isn't valid because it can get 30 MPG on the highway.

Modded VS stock? Not sure why that matters.

exactly. the reason its got 2.73's is because its a 6sp trans. its geared pretty aggresively 1-4.

my point its the powerband. the 3v's powerband is much better. modded for modded, the 3v will win there too.
