Default v6 engine vibrations...

Any time my car is idling my whole car starts making a vibration noise..its very annoying..the only thing I can think of is maybe a bad motor mount. Does anyone have any ideas??

Is the idle itself rough?

When your hood is open, can you see the engine shaking?

500 is a bit low for idle.

I think factory spec is 650 rpm. For automatics, anyway.

500 is low enough that the engine can stumble or misfire and cause shaking.

The ECU is constantly adjusting spark and throttle position to maintain idle speed. You really notice this when you put a load on the engine. Even like when you operate your power windows, or the AC kicks on.

If you didn't set your idle that low in your tune, how about checking to make sure that your air filter, MAF, throttle body, fuel filter, plugs, wires, etc are all in good shape?

Those things can cause a rough engine if they need maintenance.

I think manual V6's are supposed to idle at 700 or 750.

For a 2006, it could very well be just in need of a little maintenance if it hasn't been taken care of already.

Good luck!

Three months old for you, take that puppy back to that dealer and have them look at that. That's unacceptable they would sell a car that vibrates already. Anyway, as the the vibs themselves, if could be a number of things. Motor mounts, misfires, all possible. Only way to tell is to have them take a look at it again
