I'm not a big fan of those wheels, they are better than the old v6 ones, but still...too busy for my tastes

The options on that car are virtually identical to my 2010 GT. The big differences are that I don't have the $2340 electronics package and the 371 gears. But, I have the auto transmission, and rear-view camera so that's nearly a wash. Certainly not more than $1000 difference option-wise. My sticker is 35,045. That 5.0 is real nice but I don't know if it would be work $6K to me. I actually feel a little better about not waiting for the 11!

Sticker price is where the negotiation starts. It tells you what's on the vehicle and puts an initial value on the vehicle. If one were to negotiate paying sticker for his car minus program reductions like 0% financing for 72 months but getting $5K more than retail for his trade, would he be a fool?

New car negotiations vary greatly based on region as well. You'll likely get a better deal in more depressed areas of the country vs. areas that are doing well. I'd think Detroit and Chicago and LA would be great places to buy. But wait, sales tax there would be horrendous! Lots of things to think about before calling people fools I think.

look at it this way...

$6000 over 5 years of payments is right around $110 a month higher.

How much does the average person spend doing upgrades per month?

I spend at least a couple hundred a month and it has NEVER made me think "OMFG I can't eat this month or Jesus what about the kids college fund"

Seriously $110 is a night out and not even a great night out at that.

Spent the money, you can't upgrade a 2010 for the same monthly expenditure.

I agree, I love my 06', and all my upgrades, but as I mentioned earlier in the thread, this car fully loaded with all performance options with a few after market tweeks is in the long run, a lot less money if comparing to doing equal in the aftermarket with the 05' platform.

The enjoyment your going to get with the better look and performance of the breaks, suspension, gears, and anything else that is an upgrade, is easily worth it when gauging the amount of time you'll drive and enjoy the car.

These are all quality upgrades, with none of the possible"unmentioned" crappy aspects of aftermarket upgrades that you only find out about after they are on the car. Erik

Assuming you want to upgrade a 2010. It's a matter of degree here. In 2009, the 2010 was very desirable performance-wise over predecessors. Now the 2011 has done the same to a 2010. And you could note that a GT-500 is another big step up in performance. And wait another year or two and who knows! But, that doesn't make 2009, 2010 or 2011 cars undesirable. My cousin just bought a cherry 2004 Anniversary GT. It's a sweet car. My stock 2010 GT will out-run, out-handle and is smoother and more comfortable to drive. But the 2004 is still a sweet car. There is always going to be something better, faster down the road. Enjoy what you have!

all i know is that i don't spend 110 or even 200 a month in upgrades...if i did i'd already have my blower

I was thinking about this subject Saturday when I put a new tune in my 07 (emissions friendly so I can pass NY inspection without having to flash back to stock and put my stock airbox back on). I get up to 80 or 90 so fast that what do you do from there? I can't (or don't dare) go any faster routinely, and on the country roads around here there is a turn every mile or so, not to mention road hazards (people coming out of driveways, bicycle riders, deer). I like the dash on my 07 much better than the 10 or 11, and certainly like my rear lights a whole lot better. With not even 9K miles on my car, why should I take a bath for a car with a lot more hp that I can't use? I will be the first to admit I would like to have the new motor and the suspension package, but perhaps I will be able to get this stuff off a wrecked car in the future. I like the look of the earlier S197 a little better anyways.
