Default Why do I miss 3rd while powershifting so often?

Is there some sort of electronic safety feature or am I just a suck *** n00b driver?

no its something else....i mean you might be a noob driver but there are a lot ppl who have trouble with 3rd. Get a short throw and you will fix your problems. I miss mine from time to time as well.

You are probably trying too hard to put it into 3rd, all you have to do is push up essentially and it will guide itself right into 3rd. I learned that after awhile that I was trying too hard to put it into 3rd.

Roush, for the record, make the nicest short throw shifters for Mustangs.

I have driven pretty much every type and the Roush is the hands down winner.

Not sure when the 6spd version will be out, but the 5spd was amazing

I'm gonna order those because I don't have the money for a STS and don't really care for one.

Thats nothing man. one time i was driving fast like an idoit trying to be a bad *** and i went from 3rd back into 2nd (trying to go into 4th) the rpms went through the roof and i must have made the alternator surge or something because all my guages and electronics started flashing and freaking out lol I pulled over and turned the car off and on again and it worked but man was that stupid and i felt like a noob. luckely i took the clutch out for a second and when i realized what i did i put the clutch in so i think thats why it didnt cause any damage. Thats was over a year and a half ago

Moral of the story be careful shifting and it could happen to anyone.

The worst thing I've done shifting is punch my Skipper 500(when I had it) when my hand slipped slamming 3rd, I've also minorly grinded here and there.
