Default Tuner question

Brenspeed has sent me a new tune for my car via email. Im a little confused how to get this loaded.

Do i got to the sct website and download there update for the handheld onto my computer and then hook the hand held up to my computer and upload that update to the device.

Once that is done then go to the email where my new tune is and upload it to the device

Thanks for the help

I'm glad you made this thread.
My custom tuner is emailing me an updated tune too for my SCT X3 and I'm not sure on what to do.

Can't wait for others to chime in.

You always want to download all updates for your sct first from the sct website. Download that to your pc, then plug the sct into the pc, then download the email.

I just followed brenspeeds instructions. Its very important to make sure you have the latest version of the sct software on your pc before you plug in your sct to your pc.

If I managed to do this three times I am sure you can do it dude.....I am a computor dummy!! LOL

If I recall correctly, when I downloaded my tune from AM, I saved the file on my desktop (it was a .cef file). Then I downloaded the SCT program to manage the tune/download it to the handheld. Plugged in the SCT handheld to the computer and downloaded the tune to the handheld. Not real hard, but took me a while

And I'm guessing that if you have 3 tunes already on the SCT, you need to upload one to the PC to save it and then delete it off the tuner. Is that right?

Good question.
I already have three tunes on mine plus the stock tune.
I want to keep two of them and upload ONE new tune.

It would be nice to find out how to do this

I found this on the sct website. It gives a good break down of what u are suppose to do when loading a new tune via email. It does not saying anything about deleting a tune so u can put a new tune on. Im guessing it does this on its own.

tell me what u think of the steps

here is the link to other information for the device

Well I just downloaded the software on my computer to the desktop. I have the x3 i think. Unfortunately im away from home for work so i cant remember but im pretty sure. I checked brenspeeds site which is where i purchased my handheld and thats what they are selling so im sure i got the right version installed on my computer. It took about 10 minutes to install. I have my tunes on my desktop also so when i get home it should just be a matter of hooking my device to my computer and installing the new drives and then the new tune. Atleast im hoping

Update us when you get done with it if you would please.

I am going to have to do this myself and would like input.
I will need to delete ONE tune and put ONE on the SCT X3 from an email tune so instructions from someone that did it would be great.

Thanks!
