Default Tire Pressure Light

Low tire pressure light continues to stay on even though theres plenty of air in the tires is there anything i can do? The wheels r the Shelby Alcoas 20x9 front 20x10 in the rear. The tires say do not exceed 50 lbs. I put 40 lbs in them cold.

Are you sure the wheels have tpms sensors? If they do, you could have a bad sensor in one of 'em.

I think your wheels and tires are bad. You should send them to me and I will dispose of them properly.

I'd say check the TPMS sensors make sure one didn't come loose or something. I've also heard about them shifting on the rim before as well....that could be your problem.

Yes they have the sensors in them i do know that. Hoe can you check them to make sure they didnt shift or move?

Unfortunately I don't know that answer exactly, maybe someone else can help there. What I would do is take a good look at all 4 of them and see if one seems out of place compared with the others. Here's where I got the information about the TPMS sensors shifting:

https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005...ing-wheel.html

The thread itself deals with a different issue but look specifically at reply #24 and start reading from there. One member had issues TPMS sensors coming loose.

Hope that helps!

See if a Ford dealership will recalibrate them for you. They might hassle you since you have aftermarket wheels. Or they may simply do it gratis.

Try and find someone local to you with the tool. Takes like a minute to program them. American muscle sells the tool as well. Cheaper to buy it then paying the dealer if they are going to charge you. Just my .02

New wheels and tires are next on my list.....is recalibration necessary when going to wheels with new TPMS sensors?

I was not aware....thanks for the info! I prefer not to be hitting the reset button all the time....this will save me a possible headache down the road!

OP.....sounds like that may be your problem. Did you have them recalibrated?
