Default GT500 OEM Strut Tower Brace

I purchased this strut bar last week from Greenleaf Prime in the hopes that it may work being that it was so inexpensive. Well it fits great on the strut and does clear the plenum cover without any issues. At this point I was pretty ecstatic but there was one step left to make this work....I closed the hood (stock w/scoop) and not a chance this was going to work. There were two noticable bulges on the hood and the scoop was raised a bit.

I dont have enough posts yet to place an ad in the classifieds so hopefully I am not breaking any rules here...I wont be able to ship it since it came to me wrapped in a garbage bag (yea, i know). Its in very good shape and was literally on my car for about 30 minutes while i messed with it.

Any one in North Atlanta want a great bar for $20???

I think if you put the convex side of the bar towards the radiator support, it should fit.

I tried everything. Backwards (curve towards firewall) didnt work. I also used washers on the on the back supports to lower the front of the bar but that didnt work either....

Really? There was a member on here a while ago, onf1r is his name, or something along those lines. Drives a killer Roush 427R, he put one of those on his car, maybe shoot him a PM or something?

Yea, I watched his vid and read the thread about it here also and thought I would give it a shot. The bulges are quite noticeable and backwards isnt even close, the plenum cover wont allow that to happen. Kind of sucks cause I really wanted this to work, took me a few days of research and seeing some working and some not.....

I used to have one. Put a couple washers on the posts closer to the firewall to aim the curve down. It will relieve the bulge.

I tried that before I gave up, the bulges were still occurring although not as bad. I used 4 washers on each back post and was not comfortable going any more than that.

Still looking for someone to take this off my hands....will use the money to get magnetic panel

Seems like it will work for some, but not others...

Mine went on fine but it seems like a lot of people have problems getting them on. Wonder what the difference is

You would think the variations between the cars wouldnt be that much. There are so many variables that it would be very hard to nail down which ones will allow it to fit or not.

You cant see the bulge by just eyeing it so perhaps the folks without issues just cant see it. Where I was installing I had a good glare on the hood and was clear as day.
