Default reconnecting battery...which one first?

Quick question for you guys. Had to disconnect my battery and now I'm going to reconnect it.

Do I attached the positive (+) cable FIRST, then the negative?

Or do I do the negative (-) cable first, then the positive?

Thanks guys. Couldn't find this info in the owner's manual.

Positive first, that way if you touch ground with the wrench while tightening you won't ground out.

Wow, there's a thread identical to this one in the V6 S197 section by another guy with the identical name as this OP. Go figure...

Just remember: batter-y is P to P

Put on, Positive first

Take off, Negative first

I love the noobs.

Even the non-noobs screw up occasionally. The Tech Correspondence column in the June 2010 issue of Road & Track got it backwards. They corrected it in the August 2010 issue. BTW, the August issue compares the Mustang and Camaro. Mustang 1, Camaro 0.

When removing, always remove negative first. Same reason as putting back on the positive first: if the wrench hits the frame or any other metal part when you're on the positive terminal, if the negative terminal is still connected, you'll throw a load of sparks and can damage stuff. If the negative terminal is being worked on and you touch some part of the car with the wrench, it won't matter.
Remove negative first, then positive.
Put it back on doing positive first, then negative.

And do NOT get them crossed and put them on wrong!!!!
