Default Uneven Exhaust Pipes

Hello all. Had my 2011 GT/CS for about a week now and absolutely love it. Just today however, I noticed that one of my mufflers appears to be a few inches below the other and as a result the left exhaust tip is not even with the right one. Anyone else have this problem? Is this something the dealer can fix? I hate to have to go back to the dealer but it will bug me to no extent if I don't. I'm also probably the only one who notices it.

All of my 07-09 Mustangs have had uneven exhaust tips and have had to get all of them aligned and I assume the 10-11's are the same?

They should fix it! You paid a lot of money to be satisfied, and you should be!

I can definitely vouch for the 08's having this issue. Mine is literally 1.5 inch off. I just haven't wanted to spend money on correcting it. It sucks that the new ones have that issue too.

u could probably fix it urself if u crawled under there to see what was going on. Especially if u hate going to the dealership. Plus if its something u can do without taking it to them u wont waste your money and time to get there. If u cant then by all means take her in.

The fix is simple providing nothing is bent. Loosen the axleback and midpipe clamps and wiggle the joints while you have someone hold the tip centered in the cutout. They should eventually align. Then retighten everything back. You'll find this within TacoBills "How-To" for installing the Stingers but it applies to any tip not being centered in the cutout.

I need to look that up. Me and my brother installed the axlebacks together, and uninstalled it and than reinstalled it. I thought maybe we were just having a bad day, and we missed something, but they were just as lopsided upon putting them back together the second time.

Thanks, you gave me the motivation to take a look at it for a 3rd time.

This was touchy on my Gt take-off install. It's not only how far you have the mid-pipe pushed into the muffler inlet, but with everything at different angles, having one side twisted a little too far one way or the other, will change the final position. Did I say that right???? DUH.....

on my 2011, one sticks out just a little bit more than the other... I'm ****, so maybe normal people can't tell. Also, the exhaust on the left is a little discolored where the tip attaches to the muffler... it's kinda a goldish yellow tint.
