Default installed new cd deck and the music sounds weird

just as the title says, i installed a new sony xplod cd player and now everything sounds really boxy. I cant figure out why this thing sounds weird, it almost sounds like the amp wont turn on, but i know its turning on. the shaker 500 sound 10x better than this thing. Has anyone had any problems like this? if so what did you do to fix it? thanks

When you replace a Shaker you need a line driver. Check the audio section of the forum...Lots of info on it there.

Sorry was thinking of something else and I'm a little tipsy... You need a voltage regulator like this in order to use the factory amps-

Or you can install an in-line resistor. Don't ask how because I have no idea but know it's been done. Check the audio section for shaker in the titles and you'll find tons of info.

Are the amps working at all? You may have to get in there with a volt meter to find out.

Perhaps it has to do with sony's sub-par quality? My clarion made my stock speakers 10x better.

Having the speakers out of phase can muddy the sound quality.
