need new sub-forum
We'll see if it's the best way to go or not (I like it).
Usually, there are always more than one approach to do things.
Like Matt and I said... Right now, everything is smooth (can't deny that) and there are no reasons to mess with anything.
It's also easy for us to quickly navigate and take care of things when need to be.
Once 2011 traffic gets thicker, we'll adjust accordingly because it's in the interest of no one to have a complicated menu.

I agree with the other sections, but because the V6 General forums has lots of guys that not only are new to the forum, but they are new to the car scene as a whole (Due to the amount of "first car" guys) I believe that you may encounter a lot of flaming and bad mouthing of legitimate questions new guys ask from the V8ers towards the 6ers.
This topic was posted by a guy with a legit question yesterday in the V6 General Discussion. While it is a question that is easily answered by using the search function, the first poster was a guy from the V8 side saying "I just can not imagine spending that kind of money on Mod's for a 6." While I do realize the guy was not trashing V6's, what about the others who do? The questions asked by the new guys are, for the most part, tolerated in the V6 General Discussion, whereas those same questions run the risk of being flamed in the V8 side.
Im not saying that new V8 owners don't ask stupid questions, because they do, but due to the V6 Mustang being a starter car we have much more non-car people than V8's do. I just see lots of answers to questions becoming "Should have bought a V8" and "Who cares its a V6"
Personally I wouldn't mind the change, a lot of the general discussion is S197 based not V6 or V8 based. Its just that there is a lot of tension between the V6 and V8 guys and I feel like it would be one or two threads away from a major fall out... maybe its just me

Like I said, there are more than one ways...
And saying "I just can't imagine someone spending that kind of money on a V6", is still thrashing the sixxers, I don't care who says it and how cool you're trying to be, saying it.
People got these cars in the 10s and it ought to be a lot of fun to line them up against a stock GT owner with an attitude, LOL.
Talk about ownage, especially if said GT has all the bolt ons (or even mild supercharged) and lots of cash in appearance.
Then you'll hear the GT ******* sayin' "But your car will never sound like a V8, waaaah, waaaah!".
Never mind that the 3V engine sounds like schit anyway (Although with cams...
).
In other words, we won't make changes to make it easier to *** wipes but rather upon following a member consensus towards smoothness.
Besides, you'll never eliminate douchebaggery, immaturity, spam etc...

well, the only reason i brought up the discussion is that the 2011 mustang doesnt have anything more in common with the 2005-2009 mustang as it does a fox body mustang. As a 2005-2009 mustang owner speaking, the "general forum" in the s197 forum contains a large percentage of 2011 threads which have nothing to do with our mustangs, and is a little distracting.
i know it will get done in time, im just sayin...

the entire drivetrain is different, the exterior is different, and the interior is different. if you had to put a percentage on it, i would "guess" that there is less than 5% of things that have carried over from 2009 mustang to 2011.
When "same platform" is mentioned, it is implied that it's the same shell inner structure.
So the similarities are greater than 5%, more like 30%.
Same thing with the 94/04 Mustangs...
The car got a facelift in 99 but it was the same platform.
