V8 Engine Replacement
I'm not seriously considering this right now, but I'm interested to know how much it costs to put a V8 engine in a V6 2009 Mustang. I'm assuming the cost of doing it as well, not just the engine itself. So, were I to put a V8 in 2009 Deluxe, how much (along with the cost to actually do it) would it be? And would the frame of an 09 be able to handle it?

There's more to it than just the mechanical laundry list. Don't forget the PCM and all the electronics involved. You probably also need to upgrade the suspension.
It's been done but not profusely because it's a money pit really.
A donor car would be the correct start but it'd still cost you a bundle.
Impossible for us to give you a Dollar amount you can base your foundation on...

You need the motor, PCM, tranny, rear end and alot of other things here and there I would say around $5000. The same price of a supercharger/turbo kit that would beat a stock or mildly modified GT... (Thats debatebale of course)
I'm not a mechanic so this may sound silly but wouldn't a carburated crate motor instead, like a 351 for example, negate the need for a pcm, etc? Basically build it the way cars used to be. If so would it even be road legal for states with emission testing? That was my thoughts for mine 5-6 years down the road.

Cheaper to blow your current car and add suspension... that engine swap stuff is crazy expensive... and whatever you think it's going to cost you, even after you've got professional opinions, times that by a factor of 1.5 to 1.7.

It would have to be a stroked 351 like 408 or 427. No sense of being shy with projects like these.
To be in accordance with the regulations, aftermarket companies make various fuel injection system to choose from...
