Very good writeup. And I agree with you regarding the amount of money we sometimes put unwittingly into these cars just to gain 40-50hp in the end.
For all the mods I have in my car, if I could do it all over again, I would just save for a supercharger and longtube headers. Then suspension and brakes.
Too bad I don't have a time machine to tell my past self to do just that... and to dump my current girlfriend at the time. Oh well.

i was glad to read your comments about the "drone" in the borla stingers. I also have a H pipe. I have installed resonators and raamat sound deadening in my car, still drone! i have a 8.8 3.73 gears on the way to my house, should be here friday... i have a convertible too...

im really hoping the drone will be better. i drive mostly on the highway

Glad you find it useful. All the gears do (regarding the drone) is that you can drive past the drone band faster on the low gears and then when you are driving on your 5th gear on the highway you are outside that band.
Now 4.10 you are out of the band right above 55 mph. I usually drive 60-90mph on highway. 3.73 will bring you out of the drone at a bit higher than 55 probably 60 or 65. Be aware of what to expect so you are not disappointed from your install.
