Default Catastrophic failure :(

So i blew my motor last night at the drag strip. It was my first run too I launched hard shifted into 2nd them boom. So its going as close to stock as possible and then its going to ford. If they give me a new 4.0 thats cool but if not I found a 4.6 with trans and ecu for $2,000. only 12,000 miles. Idk if thats a good price so chime in please. Or i might build my 4.0.

He was running like a 150shot on stock internals lol.

U R, weren't we just talking about in a thread about a month ago how you were pushing the envelope running that much nitrous?

Ya i was running a 130 shot. i did about 20 passes on it before. I think it was my fault. I think i over reved it. With 4.10s 1st gear is almost not there. I launched hard and the shift light when on and it was at about 6k and i went into second. I also found out later i had to wrong tune in but it shouldnt have mattered because i was running race gas. Im not to worried about it. Ford will eithrt replace it or they wont and if they wont its just an excuse to upgrade. Looks like my daily driver will be my 66 charger

Nitrous and catastrophic failure often go hand in hand.

This is very true. Stock internals are not good with nitrous. The rings are too close to the top of the pistons I guess. Something about they need bigger land grooves or something? I wouldnt mind a stroked 4.2 with forged pistons. Get some head work done and run a 225 shot

From Tom Morana racing or whatever? I thought that was a 4.3 stroker kit.
