Another reason to keep it under 80 mph.

Count my thoughts in with the wheel balance thought too. I have had cars of all other makes do the same thing at speed, ranging from above 60MPH to above 90MPH. They would be smooth as silk at lower speeds, but once they hit a certain high speed, the shaking kicks in. And in all of my cases in all of these cars, it was always the wheel balance.

Cross your fingers that it is not something else that is much more expensive: driveshaft, tranny, etc. The cost to balance a wheel is WAY cheaper and easier to fix than one of these other things.

Well since the dealer will not even throw the wheels on the balancer without verifying the problem first which they cannot do I have decided to take the car over to the best tire shop in the area tomorrow.

I am a bit concerned that moving the rears to the front did not help the issue but I guess maybe more than one tire is out of balance. I thought the factory had top of the line balancing equipment too.

We shall see how it goes.

Well I just got back from the high end tire place.

They balanced all four and found a high spot on one. They turned the tire on the rim and were able to get it to balance fine.

STILL VIBRATION over 80 mph 90-100 even more.

I am not sure what to do now, I am going to try one more tire place and I am already out $85

Man I feel you. Ever since changing from my stock rims, have GT500's now, I have the same issue. I may just get a brand new set of wheels and tires and sell these...someday.

I just got back from a SECOND high end tire shop.

They rebalanced all four again and found 3 were off at least on their machine.

One tire had some run out in the tread but they said 95 out of 100 tires do.

Verdict - Still some vibration over 80 but it is better.

I still have not gone to the dealer and now am out $140 and still have an issue.

I called another dealer and they said they cannot do warranty work on tires unless they can confirm the issue with road testing.

I think I am skunked unless I want to buy new tires in which case I might as well get rims too.

Anyone in NJ want to let me use there front wheels and tires for a few minutes?

Update - I have kind of good news, as of today there is now shake even at 55mph at certain times.

I guess now I can finally bring it to the dealer.

The car is at the dealer today.

The 2008 Stang V6 loaner they gave me with 32k on it drives PERFECT on the highway 80 feels the same as 60 just as a car should.

I will update with what they have to say.
