I think I am about to throw in the towel. I bought a new 2011 GT and it is starting to smell a littl lemony. Car is 9 months old and has had left lower control arm replaced by dealer due to being out of spec and rattled. Engine has the requisite cam rattle noise between 2,000 and 3,000 rpm when engine is cold. Drove the car to the hardware store recently, came out and started car to go home and engine sounded like it was running on 3 cylinders and refused to rev. Shut engine off, waited 5 seconds and it restarted fine. This car sits in a nice warm garage on my vehicle lift and I park my daughters VW Bug under it. This is an occasional use vehicle only and I noticed a drop of oil on her back window. Looked up and found oil dripping from axle vent. Car only has about 3,500 miles on it now, dealer wants to see it for the engine rattle issue and now I guess he gets to explain the oil leak. Oh I almost forgot, they had to replace the passenger a pillar trim due to a defect found the day I bought it new. If you add up all the dealer visits for issue diagnosis and repair this car will be in the shop more in the first year than all of my last 5 Hondas and toyotas combined and I drove them all daily and drove them a bunch.
I felt smarter owning rice burners but also felt like a traitor for not owning American. What I have learned through all of this is feeling like a traitor feels less sickening than feeling suckered.

Well a drop of oil from the vent is not a big deal. Despite some problems I had with my 06GT, I am a happy owner with 117k miles right now. All I did to the car were new rear shocks, handbrake cables, spark plugs and o2 sensors, plus the differential seal. This was around 1000$ for 4 years of driving. And this is a performance vehicle, so I think it's not bad:-)
