Default newb owner needs help on exhaust, cai etc..

ok just got an 09 v6 i want to make it sound mean, the way every mustang should lol. Kind of tight on money, but i heard flowmasters are pretty cheap, how much would this cost for duals, and if not how about a muffler delete? Also, is there any specific cai that you would not have to retune the engine. What other mods are there that is can do that arent that expensive. Sorry if im asking stupid questions but im new to this and want to be well informed. Your opinion is welcome!!!!!!

i have a v6 also and bbk is a good cai that does not require tune. My exhaust is amazing, it is an X pipe with muffler deletes, it is duals. You cant go wrong with those....

My switch to dual exhaust cost me a total of about $730, $480 for the Borla's and $250 for the h-pipe and install. You can probably find a cheaper place to do the install or do it yourself but I had to get my done by Ford because my parents didn't believe me that it wouldn't automatically void my warranty. If that's over your budget a single Flowmaster American Thunder sounds really good too, I had one before I switched to duals and it only costs $175.

As far as a CAI is concerned, don't waste your money on a no-tune-required CAI since it may barely make more than 4-5 RHWP. Save for a good CAI & custom tune combo and unleash the beast.

There are a lot of threads in the V6 section on exhaust systems. Be aware that any exhaust work downstream of the cats will be for sound only.

If you can't afford a tune with a CAI then go for the BBK, like stated above its really not any good for any type of power increases but it will give you better throttle response that is noticeable.

The only time you are going to see a real performance increase with a CAI is if you get a good tune as well.

that is meant for a GT it has almost double the throttle body haha you would never get it to fit on a v6... unfortunatly
