Default Carpet under dash

Recently picked up an '06 GT, my first Mustang since 1985 (I had a 1979 with a 302). Don't know what took me so long to get back in the saddle, but I'm loving the car so far.

Anyway, I've been a lurker of these forums for quite a while and y'all were a BIG help in researching interesting topics as I narrowed down my quest for the "perfect" used car.

I plan on keeping her stock except for a CAI/tuning kit in the near future. Too much fun to drive as it is and I keep finding reasons to get it on the road!

Later....

Congrats and welcome back to the stable...

BTW, what's with the subject? Did you have a question about the carpet?

Don

Welcome to the S197. And I, too, was wondering about the thread title, thinking you were referring to the water leak TSB.

Oh yeah, carpet under the dash!

Is it standard for the floorboard carpet to stop about 2/3 of the way up under the dash?

In mine, the driver and passenger side are exactly the same, but just wanted to confirm that this shouldn't cause any red flags. No evidence of leaks.

Thanks!

That's wrong... That's wrong I tell ya... But since you and I just met (in cyber speak) I'll help a good friend like you out by offering to take that hunk o' junk off your hands real cheap... Say 1 dollar?

Seriously, that sounds exactly like mine... Nothing to worry about.... unless I got screwed out of some carpet... LOL...

just Ford being cheap and saving a few pennies.

Just watch out because tall passengers with big feet can rip up the insulation that shows with their shoes and make a mess.

Yup, the carpet runs a little short unfortunately.
