Default Need a Custom Tune for this?

Okay, here's the deal, and please excuse me for creating yet another tune thread, I'm sure you guys get sick of them.

I bought the 'E Kit' from www.rpmoutlet.com . It's going into my 05 Mustang tomorrow.

It comes with the Predator tuner and a C&L CAI.

It also comes with MotoBlue underdrive pulleys and a new 60mm throttle body.

The Predator tune only applies to the CAI....

Do I need to have a custom tune done because of the pulleys and throttle body?

I know the best idea is to do it anyway, since it would increase performance, BUT, the closest Dyno Shop that has any experience with Pred is about 2 and a half hours away. Not too far that I can't get there, but too far to get there on such short notice.

So my question is would it damage the engine is I ran the car without a custom tune?

My best answer would be to tell you that you WILL need a custom tune on a dyno to get everything out of the setup, and to ensure the A/F mixture is at least within tolerance.

You probably would *not* damage the engine by driving it without the full tune, but if it were me, I wouldn't drive it. HOWEVER, if I *was* going to drive it, I wouldn't push it hard until it was tuned on a dyno.

Good luck,
Mo

Interesting...I am ordering thr E kit today..but i'm feeling a little apprehensive about it because there arent any dyno shops within hundreds of miles of my location and I also would be installing this myself. But my main concern is not the installation but rather the tune. I'm just now starting to check out different performance mods and found out that every little thing has to have a tune to maximize performance...

Good luck , pal. Im currently going through "no dyno shop hell" right now. You might consider driving the many miles to the dyno shop with the engine stock, and then put all the custom crap on it down there. Then they can tune it and you can safely drive home with a feces eatin' grin on yer face all the way!

replied in your other thread too. if you have data logging capability and see that you are running lean just use your predator to bumb up your fuel delivery a bit until you have a good A/F through the rpm range
