I have the MGW for over a year now.

Things that may have gone wrong during your install:

1/ There is a rubber piece that goes over the stabilizer arm of the shifter at the point it connects with the body of the shifter. Make sure this is sitting properly and you have not forgotten to put it on. It gives a bit of flexibility for the shifter to position properly for each gear.

2/ Make sure you are not using limiters.

3/ The shifter will get a bit smoother within a 1000 miles of regular driving ( a bit sooner if city).

4/ Do not use it past 6 turns in my opinion, particularly if a DD.

My sober rating (out of 10) for this shifter would be as follows:

Construction: 10 (built like a tank)
Short Shift/Adjustment: 10
Accuracy of shifting: 6
Noise/Heat/Vibration Reduction: 10 (I have motor mounts, and torque limiters. Torque limiters only you will actually experience A LOT of movement every time you go over a bump. Adding the motor mounts stopped the movement completely. I have not tried it without the torque limiters)
Smooth operation: initial 4 (stirring gravel in a bucket), after break in 6

Customer Support: 11 (very good and knowledgeable people)

I've had mine in for 5 months now, had the guys at Brenspeed put it in when I was there for suspension work. I love the way it feels....notchier than stock but not over the top.
