Default Who will get the commission?

My ETA delivery date of 8/29 has come and gone. I was stalking my salesman, Luis, everyday this week on his cell and never got a call back. Fed up, I finally called the dealer only to learn that Luis was no longer working there. I was given another guy who told me he would be my point of contact going forward (fyi, my car is in transit!). I was saddened to hear this because Luis was a good guy and he truly went the extra mile for me (he even gave me manual driving lessons). In fact, I ordered the car from this particular dealer in order to give the kid the sale. Is there any chance he will still get the commission? Is there anything I can do?

The new guy will get the sale and the commission even though he will have done very little work for you since the original salesman left.

But Luis' name is listed on the order form next to "Salesperson". And he signed the form. Despite all this, he still won't get the commission?

As a former sales manager I can assure you that Luis is **** out of luck on getting paid for the initial sale.

Until the vehicle rolls out the door nobody makes any money and the guy who is there to handle it at delivery day will be paid.

100% positive

That's the nature of the beast.

sorry, because I think you lucked out with Luis and the chances of the new guy being half as good... are like the chances that Lindsay will stay sober!

Now give him a call!

I left him a voicemail and shot him a text, but he hasn't answered me. I'm going to try to get him his commission...

You can console yourself with the thought that if you got a good price on the car, the commission won't be that big a deal anyway. And if you didn't get a good price, Luis didn't help you too much anyway.
