new short block help
I installed a forged short block 1 month ago. I got my 1000 miles and had the car tuned. It ran fine i even took it to the track once. Then I desided to drop a pulley size and add 60# injectors. I went to the shop that had tuned the car when it was stock. They dyno tuned it and i took it out for a drive. I got about 1/2 throttle into it add it started pinging so I got off it and in was blowing white( not blue) smoke out of the pipes. So i went back to the shop and the car didnt get hot and the oil pressure was still good. They pulled one of the plugs in the back and it had oil on it. What the hell is wrong with my car?
if the injectors were bad that should have shown uo on the dyno. I had 1/2 tank of 93 gas and i ran the car harder on the way to there shop then i did on the test drive. so gas should be ok.
1. head gasket?
2. piston ring?
3. something in the valve train?
hhhheeeelllppp

Street drives are almost always different than the dyno.
You have enough fuel pump to add 60# injectors?
Any strange noises?
I would look down each spark plug hole with a scope and do a compression test.
It could be in the valave train but it would be making a noise most likely.
Good luck!

the tank was filled on the way to the shop and i was down to 1/2 tank . I was saying that the gas must be good if it was good on the way there.
i have gt500 fuel pump
no strange noises at all
scope and compression test are next on the list to do
what sucks is the car ran fine. then all i did was drop from a 3.0 pulley to a 2.75 pulley and add the injectors.

How long did you break it in for before seeing any boost? It's possible that most of the damage was done before the additional parts, and the extra few lbs of boost was the 'straw' that broke your mustangs back.
