Default Car shut off while driving?!

After driving for 2.5 hours today, I turned into my neighborhood only to notice my power steering and throttle had stopped working.. Basically, the car shut off, leaving me to brake completely, turn the car off, put the car in P, and start it up again.

This occurred right after I turned across oncoming traffic into the neighborhood, which leads me to wonder what would have happened if the car had shut off as I was making the left turn

I don't really understand how it happened, but it has me concerned. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Results why it happened?

Thanks!

FM

Engine temp normal, fuel level was over half a tank. When I turned the car back on it didn't flash any unusual CEL..

Hmm I've had this brenspeed tune for years, and never had it happen to me..

I just pulled the car through the turn while still moving (didnt come to a complete stop), and when I entered into the neighborhood the power steering had stopped working..

You mean the whole engine stopped, not just the power steering?

How has the engine ran since? I'm trying to think of what would have caused it to stall and just about every thought makes me think the car wouldn't run right afterwards, either.

But usually after a stall you'd have dash lights popping up. Any chance you accidently turned the ignition off? Shift into reverse by accident? **** probed by aliens???

This has happened to me a few times before. One time coming off of the freeway, and twice ON the freeway. I THINK I found out that it was a loose ground wire. I couldn't figure it out for a while because it wouldn't even start. After tightening everything, the car started up and ran fine. But, it still shut off once on me, but started right back up and it's been fine ever since. This ish bugs me though
