How do u replace rear lic plate light?

Default How do u replace rear lic plate light?
So seems simple right? But the screws on the light won't come out. They just spin. Do they pop out? Don't want to force it. What am I missing?

What I did was get a flathead screwdriver and kinda pried it while I was unscrewing the screw. I had one that just kept turning.
