Best advice I could possibly give for using a claybar is KEEP THE PAINT WET! I use Meguiar's Quick Detailer for this purpose.
The reason I emphasize this is that one of my neighbors saw me using a claybar and decided to try it himself. He ruined the paint on his S2000 so badly by using it without enough liquid that he had to spring for a REPAINT of the car.

Definitely. There's no reason to be stingy with the lubrication.
It's hard to mess up claying. I wouldn't worry about sticking to 2x2' sections. You can do entire panels at a time. If you're working on the hood, maybe do half the hood at a time. The only reason you want to keep the sections somewhat small is you don't want the lube to dry on the paint. It's not bad if it dries, but you usually have to use more water to get it off. If you dry the panel when the lube is still wet it won't leave any residue.

I've always wondered about the clay bar. Being a potter, I've been very reluctant to use anything called clay on the beautiful finish of my car Clay has lots of sand and grit in it. How can it possibly be any good for the finish on a car?
Perhaps I'm just not understanding......

Here is a good discussion I found from a quick Google search:

Basically, you are trying to find a balance between abrasive enough to remove contaminants while not being abrasive enough to damage your paint...

Thank you for that CincyGT.
I used a good cleaner polish and then a good high quality tech wax on my new GT and the finish came out smooth as glass, deep and clear. I've always been pretty **** about a good high gloss finiah on my vehicles and they always look good. I think I'll stick with what I know.
I have a question. The sticker says I have candy red w/tint.
What is the w/tint?
