Default 2011 Mustang GT Shift ****

Hey guys,

So I just learned that a 2011 Mustang GT (all GTs are Premium in Canada) doesn't come with the nice aluminum shift **** shown in pic below unless you get the $500 Premier Trim package (which adds the stripe to the seat, the pony door badge etc):

Instead the stock one is:

What's the best place to get this part? Is it a possible DIY? I didnt want to spend CAD$500 on the trim package because I didn't want any other part of the package...

Yeah! I just found

http://www.blueovalindustries.com/ch.../rh421123.html

Actually this is a better idea. My last car had an Aluminum shift **** and on a hot day after parking outside it burned... good thing that one had leather wrapped around it. The mustang premier one doesn't! So maybe plastic is the way to go..

Do these shift ***** require any tools to be installed? Tools / loctite maybe?

You just unscrew it, lol. Twist it CCW

EDIT: Some may have a little screw to keep it from spinning, so check for that before you try it.

Thanks, for that locking screw, is it an alen set-crew or an allen grub screw?
If so, is it in metric of inches? I have a metric allen set of hex keys, but not one for inches.

I like these better, the alum appearance of the **** is what I am after anyway.
I did look at the other link for Grabber Pony, but when all was said and don on a **** I would want, the price came up to over $110, and that was before shipping

I had mine replaced with a hurst, there is no locking screw, you just have to REALLY turn it hard, it will NOT break anything, and there is fitting adapters in most shifter hits.
