OK now, so I've read the negative feelings some of you have about having a 5" Monster Tach/Shift light in our cars, but I would still like to see how it looks. Time to come out of the closet as they say (LOL) and show us some pics please....

This is the one in my car.

Old pic with previous build

Newer pic during present rebuild

And a very very old video of it in use at the strip. Think car may have been at 16 lbs boost way back then??? Transmission was the 3 speed automatic 4r70w, with full manual valve-body and transbrake

Looks so simple with that 3-speed auto!

Hopefully...it will be simpler still with the 2 speed powerglide that is in the car now (much simpler than the 4r, easier to upgrade, and about 85 lbs lighter). It's all a bit like one mad lab experiment...so we won't know for sure until it's all done... There are very few S197s with a powerglide. I only know of one other.

hard to make a monster tach look nice in a street S197 imo - nuthin to really hang it off of except for putting it right on top of the dash as in your 1/4 mile pounder........

Some may have tried drivers side - corner of windsheild attached to 'A' pillar.
