I have the AVIC-Z2. I was in the same debate as you because I wanted a volume **** but after playing with many of the Pioneer units, I liked the overall display of the Z series. I've loved everything about mine except for that the GPS needs updated. Its nice having a built-in 10gb HD because I can copy music to the HD... and I don't ever have to worry about changing CDs. I also have the Ipod adaptor connect (what I use most often).

However once I get back from the Middle East, I'm gonna sell it and go for the AVIC-Z120BT. It seems to have all the new capabilities built-in such as SD card, Ipod, bluetooth, and USB (I think). Having an up-to-date GPS will be nice since I'm apparently driving thru a field on my current GPS when I pull into my neighborhood...

Installed this two months ago. Love the way it looks and sounds. Install was very easy. Wired up a relay so it plays video at all times. Has buttons on the left side, loads very fast but no gps if that's something you wanted.

808 funny you should mention the pioneer 3200. I went out messing with different headunits at an audiostore today and I think im going to pull the trigger on that one actually. What kind of relay did you hook up? Cuz thats definately something I'd want on mine too.

Two buttons top left corner, very easy to operate.

This is the video that shows you how to wire up a 12 volt relay. I bougHt the relay from radio shabby. Those stores are gross but they have the hard to find parts.

It's really simple to wire up. The entire install is so easy, do not pay someone to do it.

I did not realize Pioneer has seperated the Navigation on some models and sell it as a add on now. I would be looking at something like this:

It appears if you want a rotary *** and pioneer that you may have to go with a older model. They do have a open box one of these:

I like this, beats Crutchfields price too. Anyone know what wiring harness I'd need?
This one ==> http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...sche+FDSR.html
Or this one ==> http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+C2R-FRD1.html
Or both?

I only looked at each for a few seconds but they essentialy look like the same thing made by different people. Some setups need them some can do with the very cheap basic harness for like $10. That harness makes it easier either way but if you have a radio that relies on the Canbus interface to switch on, you will need that or need to run your own remote turn on.

How long did it take you to install? And did you have experience before? This would be my first headunit install..
