Have you given the car multiple run overs with swirlx? I've noticed that most anti-swirl compounds take a few repetitions to achieve a completely swirl free finish. I use swirlx on my car and currently have barely any swirls, unfortunately it does seem to be impossible to completely eliminate them (without killing myself and taking forever)

buy a Dual Action like a porter cable 7424..doing it by hand is going to take FOREVER and to get the proper results you are going to have to put in ALOT of work. Using a machine works soo much faster and are able to correct the swirls out in a fraction of the time compared to doing the whole car by hand..and your arms wont fall off at the end

I tired a certain area twice and got nothing. I am going to give a full clean inside and out and hopefully try it again and have some results. This grabber blue kills me though, you see them easily and everything seems to create more.

Not going to lie I just saw your thread in the appearance section with all your "equipment" lol. I am going to invest in one probably when the spring comes just to make my life easier. Now that winter is setting in I dont see me waxing/compounding my car as often

what are you using to wipe down the paint with..and dry it..if you are using junky towels and crappy microfibers then you will put more scratches in it every time you run it over the paint. go join up at autogeekonline.com watch all the videos from Mike Phillips..he is like a god of detailers and gives alot of info.

I actually use pretty good quality micofibers, but god knows what the dealer used when they cleaned/detailed it. I am going to give it a try tomorrow, I think I have a buffer in the garage.

buffer do you mean an orbital or a rotary?
an orbital wont really do crap and a rotary can be bad if you dont know how to use it..its easy to make things worse with a rotary if you are not trained in using them.

Pretty sure its rotary, and yeah I am used to doing it on my boat so I am going to go lightly with this first try so I dont mess up the paint. Usually why I use my hands on the car
