Default convertible in winter

I'm thinking about getting a convertible 06 mustang, and if I drive to school everyday, even in the winter, would it get damaged if i left it outside from 7am-2pm everyday? and how could i possibly prevent this?

Been driving convertable's in the winter for years. This year I will be driving my '10 GT convertable. Living up near Buffalo, NY, I expect a lot of snow. However, it is no big deal.

Yup, it's no big deal at all. I just like to keep mine clean every once in a while if its sits. But since you'll be headed to school and driving, it'll have to be kept clean so you can see! Go for it. V6 of GT? I've got the V6 and love it.

Driving a convertible in the snow and ice should be fine as said, but I would absolutely resist the temptation to open it up when the temps are very low, specifically under zero. The rubbers/seals/stitching/hems don't like that.
Sounds like a crazy suggestion but I've seen rag tops with the tops down in the cold weather before and as much as I love tha idea myself, I always cringe for the rag top itself.

I drive my 2006 convertible every day and had to leave it outside last year while we were remodeling the house so it sat through some heavy snow storms. No problems at all with my top.

My only advice, get a good set of 4 winter tires. Money well spent. I have Dunlop Winter Sports and I like them.

and make sure you clear the snow off the top periodically during heavy storms. Snow can get pretty heavy (especially if its wet). I always make sure that I clear my top off after every 6 or so inches of snow.
