Default Need some advice on blowers and cams

Hey guys- I'm putting a 4.6 v8 in my v6. I know its a huge project, but I have the resources and a donor car so I'm doin it.

So my questions are:
1)Which takeoff supercharger would I be better off with: Saleen or Roush? I want a takeoff because Im dumping a lot of cash into this project and I need to save where I can.

2)For those of you that are cammed- how did it affect your MPG? Also I want a nice lope but driveable. Thinking of the Comp Cams XFI Stage IIIs. What do you think?

Thanks

Roush has their M90 supercharger kit on sale for around $3900 at this point. Not sure how much you would save going with a take off kit. Plus no parts warranty at that point.

JMO, but I've had bad experiences trying to piece together T/O powertrains and Charger kits.

What kind of problems did you have?

Unfortunately I ended up with a "complete" take off kit which was missing several hardware bolts and a jumper harness. Come to find out, the hardware wasn't available individually, I had to purchase full hardware kits.

Not really a big deal I guess, just spent a bit more than I was planning on. If you can come up with a component list for the kit your purchasing, go over all of the parts before hand. It may save you a headache down the road.

Yeah definately, thanks man. About how much did your set-up wind up costing you? Just trying to lay things out a little before i go and buy.

Also if anybody with the stage 3 cams can pitch in, did you need heads as well? thanks
