Not a wild improvement? It's a big step back actually. No Sync, leather, Shaker 500, insulation, NAV, power and heated seats, etc. But I still want one.

That's exactly why I like it

It's all about what you want out of your car the boss does have an awesome set of power goodies in it, although I do have to say that I'm really happy with my 5.0 and definitely plan on holding onto it

The BOSS302 is a track car. It always has been even in the 69 and 70 models. I am excited to see forged pistons and rods, but honestly I don't see a supercharger on this think as a good thing. It's meant for autoX racing and its pretty cool to know that you have a racing ready engine basically.

one easy way to tell will be the clutch feel. It was a LOT heavier than the new 5.0's.

I thought they could really do better on the base Boss, as the interior seemed like a regular Mustang, but the one with the Laguna Seca Package was very cool.

I didn't get to sit in the car but the cloth on the Recaro's is not that nice. It would be better if the entire face of the seat was in the suede. There's only three differences between the two, the Recaro's - which are an option in the non LS, the gauges, and the rear seat delete. Did you see something else that was different?

I REALLY like the rear seats delete in the LS package. It would be awesome if they sold it through FRPP.

I'd argue that the current Boss302 and the 1969 are and were "ready to be made into track cars" but they're not and weren't "track cars" out of the showroom.

I've just finished working through this very issue with my last car - a 2008 BMW M3 - and while it was drivable on the track, it really needed about $12,000 worth of brake and suspension upgrades to make it into a viable "track car". The Boss 302 will cost less because it comes with excellent brakes installed by the factory, but the suspension is a whole other (and unknown for now) question. I'm betting that the folks who track their new Boss 302's will take them out once or twice, then lovingly wrap the original suspension parts in foam and put them in the attic. Then they'll bolt on some more track specific goodies and really start driving them.
