Default TSB for trans synchro?

My local shop turned me onto a TSB that might apply to the "stickyness" I'm feeling pulling out of 1st gear - especially cold. I can feel some friction and there's a creak. Quickly OK once it warms up a little. Just to be clear, I'm feeling it as I pull out of 1st - in the 1st gear slot - not as I'm entering the 2nd gear slot.

TSB 09-19-17 remove trans and replace affected synchronizer(s).

Anyone know anything more? I've never had this car to a dealer shop and hate to go through putting stock airbox back on and tune loaded.

Thanks!

Never heard of that one but I'd definitely take it to the dealer to get checked out
before your warranty runs out.

You don't want that thing causing your whole tranny to have major probs.
Tell them the symptoms, show them the TSB, tell them you want it checked out.
Don't let them turn you away. Odds are they will do that exact thing when you
bring it in at first and tell you it is nothing to worry about.
Get it checked out and don't let them bully you out.

And there's no reason to return your intake and tune to stock (unless your panties are bothering you).

Thanks for the help (?).

Based on what i read here it seems like most advise returning things to stock so you don't have to battle them over mods vs the repair.

Mine would clunk going between 2nd and 3rd, up or down. They did this to mine and cleared that up however, 2 issues:

1st: They didnt have a special lock ring puller or something and Ford was backordered and shipped the wrong tool twice. They ended up with my car in there shop with the transmission pulled for a month because of this.

2nd: They screwed up my forth gear. Never had a problem with it before, but before I even left the lot with it, noticed it does not go straight back into 4th gear. I learned to deal with it, I just have to pull it back and to the left when I'm pulling it into gear, but it has forced a miss shift more then once. I'm terrfied when I'm going full bore I'm gonna hit 2nd instead of 4th one of these times.

Also note, I went to the dealer with my car as it sits.... If your problem is what is described in the TSB then you have a stronger argument then they do. With your mods though, theres no way that is what casued the problem anyway.

In essence, you're accusing the majority of forum members to be panty waist wusses.

The owner has rights unless he's willing to give them up to some bullchit intimidation. Return to stock if you wish. Try not to break a nail.
