Got me some Boost Brothers LT's for $180. Heard the horror stories, but for $180 for the LT's and ORH I figured why not? I got me a big *** hammer and I ain't afraid to use it.anyhoo, been reading LT threads for 2-3 hours and am still confused. so I'll ask them straight up and hopefully get a good answer.


1. Do I need motor mounts? Prothane?
2. Do I need 02 Extensions?


I plan on having the Tuner kill the rear sensors anyways, so what would I need extensions for? the fronts?

You do need o2 extensions...if you don't want codes left and right

Idk about boost brothers, but I didn't need new motor mounts when I put my bbks in..with all the money you saved you should do it anyway

 

Motor mounts are not a must, but usually a "while I'm here" sort of mod when doing the longtubes.

 

subscribing to this..I was contemplating that Rev 5 so if you have a good experience I am getting them as well.

the motor mounts might be a good idea. might give a little more clearance, idk.
you dont need the rear O2 sensors, but you will need something to fill the bungholes.

 

The rear bungholes come with plugs. I was going to thread lock it or JB Weld the rear plugs in since they'll never be used and are pointless

Do I need the O2 extensions for the fronts? Can't find a straight answer on that. Looks like I don't, but again can't find any 100% info on yes or no

If yes, got any links for them at a good price?

 

i'm not 100% sure, but after having some exhaust issues after installing a DS loop, i had bunghole plugs installed in the rear O2 sensors holes.
and now i have the O2 extension wires in a box in my closet.
so i think you dont need the O2 extensions for the front.

 

I just did my LT header install. The front 2 O2 sensors were a tight fit. Theres a little thing that holds the main wire in place (above the transmission, behind the motor). Unhook that from the plastic holder and push the wire down, that gives you the extra slack you need to get them to fit. My complete install took me 7 hours. No shop needed.

which writeup did you use to install your longtubes? I paid my tuner to install my longtubes and got a free dyno tune for the longtubes + nitrous for free with the price. I'm gonna try to remove mine in the next couple of weeks so I can put them up for sale and would rather try it myself other than pay a shop to do it
