Default DING sound at low speeds?

Hello, i have a 2005 Mustang GT 5 speed...

only mod im aware of is a cold air intake...

at low speeds there is this ding sound? when i stop abruptly or take off... i took it in and they said my U-joint is bad... bull ****... i checked it and it was fine, no shaking or rattling, it just sounds like someone is dropping a wrench on the drive shaft, it sounds like its coming from right behind the rear seats on the passenger side

any suggestions?

will add additional info upon request

I have a similar sound but closer to the engine.

Is it a ding or more of a metal grinding type sound at a very narrow RPM range? If so, I'll also go with exhaust rattle. That may be fixed by tightening the axleback-to-midpipe clamps another 1/4 - 1/2 turn.

There are quite a few known under-chassis rattle causes on the S197's.

There are a few exhaust related rattles, some issues with heat shields vibrating and TSB for a tranny separator plate (or something to that effect) that are known under carriage rattles.

Keep us posted on what you find.

YO, 2005Redfire6! Maybe I should ask the OP if it might be related to the water leak...
