Default Best brushed aluminum dash kit?

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of adding more "metal" to my interior. I already have the interior upgrade package with a red interior. I wanted to put more of the brushed aluminum on the center console and other areas. I found a kit here:
http://www.crossroadzdirect.com/
There's no direct link, but it's under "2005 Mustang" --> Interior --> "2005 Mustang Real Brushed Aluminum Dash Kit"

Does anyone have any reviews or opinions of this kit? Does anyone have any other suggestions?
I just don't want those suckers peeling off or chipping after a few years.

Thanks!

Bryan

Dang! That's some website! Thanks Professor!

How do you like the fit and finish? Does it look like it'll be permanent? My goal is to try to make it a seamless transition between the dash kit and the original IUP.

Thanks again,
Bryan

Brchan...

I bought 2 kits.... The Aluminum one which I put over the stereo, console and door switches.

I the used the Red/Black Carbon Fibor kit on the R and L parts of the dash and on my stearing wheel.

Here are some pics, however the kit wasn't completely installed (finished) when they were taken. I need to get some updated ones.

I like the look of both kits and am very happy.

I'm also looking at these kits. Are you satisfied with the fit & finish? Do they resemble the stock pieces closely enough not to just look "tacked on?"

I am quiet happy with Fit and Finish...

However... the do NOT match the factory piece, because Ford acid etched the factory piece so it has a dull with strippes look. The kit I bought is brushed aluminum. I like how it turned out and NOBODY has said "Boy, that looks tacky" or told me they don't match. There are some kits out there with "Satin" finish, but they still won't match because of the stripes on the factory pieces.

How long did the install take? And how easy was correcting any initial mistakes?

Also, did you get the brushed aluminum, or the real brushed aluminum?

I got the REAL Brushed aluminum... and a word of warning.. since it is REAL aluminum, it WILL scracth... thank god it is "brushed" which makes it easy to buff out the scratches.

Installation was easy enough... pieces fit very nicely and are fully coated on the back side with 3M Mounting tape... Once they are on, you don't have to worry about them coming off. However, any one that has worked with 3M tape knows get it STRIGHT the first time, because you are likely to destroy everything trying to peal it off after it sticks.

I just took my good old time and very very very carefully placed the pieces as I went, No problems.
