serious electrical problem
Well Monday I turned my headlights on and they cut off and I didn't think anything about it and turned them back on. Well this morning they wouldnt turn on at all and only one parking light in the front is coming on, when I hit the blinkers the car stalls out and makes a clicking noise when I flip the parking/headlights on. Saturday I tightened the belt when I put it back on after I didnt get the supercharged install. My friend says I tightened the belt too much and thats what my issue is, we did tighten it alot. Could this be my issue?
No, its not the waterleak issue Nuke

Darn... But you DO have an '05...
It has the sound of an alternator/battery issue although I doubt tightening the belt is the cause. Depending on what's making the clicking noise, it sounds like a low voltage issue but why one parking light comes on is a bit suspicious (without looking at the wiring diagram). Does it crank and turn over normally? Any other noteable symptoms? A little more info would be helpful.

In that case, the belt is too tight. Squealing certainly is not good and indicates excessive load on the bearings but that shouldn't affect alternator output. Regardless, a healthy battery should operate the lights even if the alternator output was low. Strange...

I'm going to loosen up the tensioner a bit when I get home, I think this is the reason since I never had an issue until I removed the belt saturday and put it back. Also if it helps, I have a clifford alarm and I noticed this morning when I lock/unlock the car I get a clicking noise from the engine bay. Sounds like a solenoid.

You 'friend' is an idiot and I would keep him
far far away from your stang.
The tensioner does not 'tighten' and 'loosen' up via
the bolt on the front. The bolt holds the tightly wound
spring in place. Its a shoulder bolt and is suppost to be
tightened against the shoulder to never be loosened again.
One of those springs inside the tensioner got loose at
the Gates assembly plant here in town and it flew up
and THRU the roof to never be seen again.
You are wrestling with a bear and you will get bitten...
Leave it alone as the tensioner is PRESET by Ford
for the proper tension via the spring rate of the
internal spring.
I am suprised Nuke didnt know this....
New belt and all will be well...
far far away from your stang.
