Default 5.0 2011 mustang with squeaky brakes

My brakes squeak like crazy all the time. My dealer has tried several things to help but nothing seems to work. Nothing worse then a car that squeals every time you touch the break, even when barely touching it

Does it happen just after you start it up or even once the car has been driving for a while it also squeaks?

I also don't like how in the car when it's completely quiet, you can sorta hear the brake sound as you depress it, dunno if it happens for anybody else but it's weird.

I dont know if this is something, but about a year to year and a half ago motortrend was doing a test on the new 2011 5.0 and during their braking test, the brake pedal went to the floor and they had no way to stop but gears and distance. Fortunately for them, they had lots of distance. Ford diagnosed the problem to being a small detent or clip, I cant remember exactly what it was, and replaced the part on every mustang. I dont know if this could be what happened to you, but I just thought I would throw it out there.

Hey tmurray37,

Welcome to the forum! I know how annoying the squealing is. Please PM me your VIN, contact information, mileage, & servicing dealer name/state and I will help.

pdonket - Have you asked the dealer about the brake noise? Send me your info as well and I'll see what I can do.

When you say all the time, does it continue to squeak even after the first few stops? (I.e. continues to squeak every single stop even after the brakes are warm, etc.) If this is the case, yes, seek service help. Something is not right, specifically the brake pads and/or rotors are doing something wrong.

Just a warning: Brake pads are considered a wearable item, like windshield wiper blades or your AC cabin air filter. As such, wearable items are not covered by the powertrain or bumper to bumper warranties.

However, if your brakes squeak only the first few stops but cease to squeak once warm on all other stops, that is normal of the stock brakes. The stock rotors are prone to rust very easily and the only way to eliminate this "first few stops squeak" is to ditch he stock rotors for better quality aftermarket rotors.

I have been working with folsom lake ford in folsom california. You can call them and find out what they have done so far to help fix the problem. Its embarrassing to have such a nice car squeak like it does. Makes me not wanna drive another ford. I also have a 2011 f150 that doesnt have squeaky brakes
