Nitrous Window Switch
Well, I have been searching the forum for nitrous threads and have found a few of them. I keep seeing that everybody says you need to buy a window switch. Is this what they are referring to? http://www.americanmuscle.com/zex-tr...ol-switch.html
Or are there better ones out there for the money you experienced guys could point me in the direction of?
Also, with the zex kit off AM, does that kit include everything I need besides the window switch?
Thanks

That is the correct window switch. The Zex kit comes with everything else that you need for a basic installation. But you will need a heater kit and pressure gauge - especially in Wisconsin.
The heater will be needed when it is cool out like spring and fall racing to keep the pressure up in the bottle.
The pressure gauge can mount right on the bottle so you can check it when you turn the bottle on. You want to maintain at least 900 psi for best performance
Depending upon the track you may need a blow down tube as well - it attaches to the burst disc area of the bottle and vents it to the outside if your bottle over pressurizes and it leaks.

You definitely want a blow-down tube. Not having a way to vent the bottle is like plugging the vent tube on the water heater.
I suppose the bottle itself my come with a built in release, but I wouldn't take any chances.
Our local track required a tube and they inspected for it.
This is what can happen when the pressure has no where to release:

The blow down tube just releases the nitrous to the outside of the car. The bottle itself has a pressure disc on it that will burst when the pressure gets too high. The blow down tube is routed to the outside of the car so that the gas isn't released inside the car is all.
I saw a discussion on that Firebird before and it was more than just the bottle - the pressure disc would have released long before the bottle exploded.

.

And I had it at the track many times. I think that this is the last pass before I put the Xcharger on the car - car #208

The nitrous made a ton of torque, I could really feel it when it hit. Somewhere on youtube is a video but I can't find it right now where you can see the car lift at launch, and then just before the 60' mark the nitrous hits and it lifts hard again
