Since you still have to use a key, you might as well just mount a button there for looks and still use the key to start. I can think of better uses for the money and time than installing one of these add on kits.

Or wire the start request straight into the clutch pedal switch.
No button.
Just turn the key to run and depress the clutch.
Vrooommmm.
The PCM knows the engine is running and ignores
the start request when you are shifting gears.
Now thats better than a $100 start button and loss
of the dashboard power point...

First I've heard of this idea. I like it!

It hasn't. It's just cool only because it is different from the boring old concept of key turning.

Anything that is different from what you have been doing all your life is cool, and that is what causes us to desire it.

Actually, what I would be find cool, for the sake of being different that is, is the ancient horse-and-buggy type hand crank you turned in front of the radiator! LOL! If I had to have a different starter device just to be different, I would choose the stone-age hand crank!

Along with that would be the manual spark retard lever and the manual compression release. Might even be a few more items.... Of course, the body building course so everyone could spin the crank.... I have hand cranked a 100 hp flat head Ford V8 a few times......don't want to again. lol

I do like the clutch trigger idea as I have wondered if it would work. Tie that to a parking brake auto shut off and life is easy.

To each his own, seems like a waste of money to me.

Manual controls for everything! This hails back to the days of steam locomotives where the train engineer literally had to manually control everything: from the amount of steam to the cylinders, and even just how soon steam enters the primary moving pistons! Then when steam locos went to mechanical coaling and even being oil fired, that was another control the engineers had to manually control. It literally took an octopus to be able to simultaneously operate all the controls!

Default keyless pushbutton start

Checked on the system sold by Digital Guard Dawg. Not the breeze they make it out to be. I couldn't find anyone local that would try to install it. So I asked DGD if they could recomend someone. Contacted the company they gave me. The installer I talked to said he wouldn't attempt it. Said trying to install the system on anything newer than a 2010 is a royal pain in the ***.
