Default plug n play instrument cluster?

Hey guys well I am a victim of the faulty stepper motors in the 2005 mustangs where they die... So I got a new one on the way, is it plug and play as far as mileage reading out on the display? I would imagine so. Its a 4 gauge cluster if that makes a difference.

When you say "new", I assume you mean ebay?
As I understand it this will need to be the same exact dang near everything I thought, or the PATS barfs and ya can't start it with that one plugged in until it's set right at the stealership.

Mileage will show, but it will show what that cluster has seen mileage wise, not what your car's computer has seen or the previous cluster has. So if your old cluster shows 48k miles, this new one only has 22k, it will only show the 22k.

And come on...What happened to the mycolor swap? Cheap bastid.

it is plug and play but the mileage will not transfer. You can take it to a dealer and they can transfer the mileage over though

Thanks guys, I actually bought one new from the dealership cause the ones I've seen on eBay are sold as is and not sure if they are working. They also have 2005 clusters for sale and that will just give me the same issue down the road, when it comes in I will have them transfer my mileage!

Let us know what happens. I found a mycolor in a wrecked '05 and am curious as to how the mileage transfer and the whole process goes

Be careful for 2005 when the faulty stepper motors were used!

Is it a problem with just the '05s? I have a 6 gauge cluster with MyColor... but no problems so far.

Yes for the most part I've heard 2005 and early 2006, if you search you will see its happened to plenty of people...

The cluster needs to ORDERED it with the correct Mileage ... It can only be set by the Manufacturer ... or a Speedometer shop. There is a Speedo Shop in Alpharetta that quoted me $150 to set the Odometer.
