License plate mount

License plate mount
Is anyone else a bit disappointed in how the license plates mount on the 2005s? I was pretty horrified when I took my temp tag off last week to put the new plate on and I realized they just rammed those self-tapping bolts through the paint and plastic. I got the little envelope with 4 more of those bolts for mangling the two lower holes in the back and two in the front, which I don't plan on using ever.
So has anyone come up with a more professional looking solution for mounting their tags?

RE: License plate mount
I picked up some chrome frames and tinted covers from Pep Boys, and some finished hex bolts from the hardware store. Had to drill (!) a slightly larger hole for the bolts... it's a small detail, but it definitely makes a difference in appearance.

RE: License plate mount
My tags plate will probably stay on forever.
They seem to always mess something up when they touch that area.
I didnt want to look at the plate when I got the car.
**** They should just have a thing that you pull out and mount the tags on and you push back and tighten.
Like a tee bracket that comes front area behind the plate just enough to bolt the plate on with rubber backings and then you push it back until a stops and you go into the trunk behind the plastic trim and tighten the wing nut or something. They got to make it so it wont leak water.
What do you think about that idea?
I have never put anything on the front of any car I owned. I dont like those plates. It takes away from the car itself.
I saw this on another forum that this guy makes front license plate brackets that are powder coated.
It works like this: nothing needs to be drilled....bolts to the existing heat exchanger mounting points........just bolt it up
It sells for $69.00 plus shipping.

He posted a pic of it.
If you look at it you probably can make it yourself.
You can pick up the material cheaper yourself.
I would make sure you distant the holder away from the bumper, leaving a space. Maybe add some rubber boots in the back so the bumper doesn't get messed up.
