Default TPMS Kit Recommendation

Hi, I'm buying a new set of rims for my 08 GT. When buying new rims it came to my attention that I have to purchase new TPMS for the new rims. I've been looking around and seen sets starting at $40 and up to $300. Can anyone recommend to me a decent TPMS kit? Thanks.

Just get the band kits from AM (or elsewhere) and have the OE sensors mounted in your new wheels.

Or if you dont wanna take the tires off your old wheels to get the sensors then get the new kit from AM for $149. Comes with everything you need.

Thanks....I just watched the AM TPMS video on you-tube......seems simple!

Taking the tires off the old rims: I didn't think of that...I'll have to check with the tire changer and ask if he will charge me extra for pulling off the old tires for the sensors. Either way I'll get it done.

American Muscle sells a TPSM tool kit.

http://www.americanmuscle.com/universal-tpms-bands.html

See the topdown menu on the right, above the add-to-cart button.

Is this neccessary? Or can I just buy the bands to move my TPMS to some newer, larger wheels?

AM also mentions needing this tool when rotating tires. Huh? I've rotated my tires many times without any TPMS tool or TPMS issue.

The 'training tool' is for training NEW
untrained sensors to the TPMS system
in your vehicle.
If you are just rotating tires and the
sensors are not new and untrained
and dont require retraining.

If you get new sensors, I would advise that you not purchase the syncing tool. I was told by a bud of mine at the dealership they will sync themselves, and ya know I think he is right. My yellow light went off a couple of times when I first started using the new setup, but lately hasn't went off at all. Save yourself the $ if going this route and give them a chance to do their thing. Got mine at AM btw.
