What do you think about this project?
I am on a painting spree haha, but I think it is for the better
While I was looking under the hood, I realized how disgusting the radiator cover was... Here, look at it yourself:
and then this happened (I still need to buff it some more to fix a couple tweaks, but I got too damn tired so, I decided to do it some other time.
.
.
It looks like I just got shot in the neck
Turned out as expected, but I wouldnt wanna do this again. Holy mother of god, this thing killed me. If you are wondering why, pop your hood and take a closer look at the pattern. That was a lot of sanding...

Amazing results even if it did take a long time to do. That's impressive. To be honest though as opposed to sanding it all down to clean it up I've just been trying to stay on top of keeping the bay pretty clean on a regular basis with regular wipe downs and reduce salt build up and just plain dirt from wadding up.

Damn that looks nice! Are you also going to clear coat it to protect the job?
Now for some singing, it's as stupid as hell, but please indulge me:
"Camptown ladies sing this song. Doodad! Doodad! The Camptown racetrack's five miles long Oh! dee doodad day!"
Sorry, a but of hangover, just then silly thought helps alleviate the headache

The clear coat, do you spray that on immediately after the base coat?
Or can you spray the clear coat on at any time after the base has fully dried?
Or do you have to spray the clear on with in a cerrtain time frame after the base has been applied but before it is fully dried?
The reason why I ask is because a body shop guy tole me that the clear has to interact with the base some to cause adhesion to prevent the clear pealing off (if not now, in a few years down the line).
